and to me—the differentiation between white privilege and white supremacy is important to note because “white privilege” suggests if you were just better human beings *systemic structural inequality, discrimination and violence* would end. it also focuses the response to systemic structural inequality on *individuals*, when the only method proven to work against systemc structural shit is mass mobilization.

What is at stake here is that a group of people were able to mobilize structural support (the media, politicians, think tanks, etc) for white supremacist values that at there core believe people like Obama should have never been born much less become president. They aren’t privileged in their whiteness (i.e. able to live without full knowledge of how white supremacy effects non-whites)—they are supremacist in their ability to access systemic resources to support and enforce the boundaries of racial segregation.
