and i know since my daddy was a panther, im kind of legacy, there are a lot of things the black panthers got right.
a lot.
like feeding kids.
like their 10 pt platform.
what i am trying to say is that i have a hard time with supposedly radical/revolutionary groups who dont hold some of the basic principles of bpp. i am just now realizing that is my basis on which i decide how legit you are.
do your kids get breakfast?
are you providing childcare so that mamas can go to school or to meetings?
are you teaching folks how to defend themselves?
or their rights?
or how to take care of their community’s health?
are you using media like a weapon?
are you willing to go past your fucked up oppressive ideologies for the good of the community (the elevation of elaine brwon)
are you starting schools?
are you connecting transnationally?
you dont have to perfect, far from it, but i just want to know…what are you doing?
are you learning how to grow your own food, and making sure that the elderly are taken care of, and teaching folks how to read?
are you learning from folks how to destroy the system by any means necessary?
are you crying at night because the work is so much and your body is so little and yet still your heart doesnt do anything but beat, so you know they can kill a revolutionary but they cant kill a revolution?
what are you doing?
are you listening/reading to your elders and dancing with your babies?
you got weapons? you got saltwater to clean the wounds?
you aint got to be perfect, but i want to know what direction are you headed? you got revolution dancing around you like a hurricane? you got an analysis that makes sense to people who got sense?
