Merf. Thinking is Hard.When you go to a friend’s house to stay the night and get stuck with the scratchy blanket.
You know the one.
It’s made of wool.
It has satiny trim that tries to deceive you into thinking this will be a nice blanket experience.
But it’s not.
Every house has one.
It’s buried deep in the bowels of the linen closet, under some afghans and a comforter with the down coming out of it, but make no mistake.
The scratchy blanket is there.
And it waits.
We have one of these.
We never bought it.
It just appeared one day.
It’s still there.
No matter how many blankets we get.
The Scratchy Blanket will always be there.
Koreans seem to really like these because almost all the blankets in my dad’s parents’ house are Scratchy Blankets
thank fuck we went in the summer and would have suffocated under blankets anyway
I have LOTS of these, I inherited them from my mother when I moved out. Most of them she either got from her mother in law or bought when she was young so like… most of the blankets in my house are over 50 years old.
there’s not actually anything wrong with them?? I really like them. You just have to use them with a sheet. They’re warm and comforting :3

LOOK, THE ONLY REASON ANY OF YOU DISLIKE THESE BLANKETS? IS BECAUSE IT WAS IMPROPERLY CARED FOR. washing and drying at the wrong tmeperatures is what makes them scratchy! when washed right, they are amazing and squishy and soft and the exact opposite of scratchy!
I can’t deal with skritchy blankets at all, but those are not the skritchy kind they are generally nubby and soft I DON’T UNDERSTAND???
in my experience super skritchy blankets have been those WWII era army ones
