i really dont get the controversy over that “tips” post

it seemed pretty clear to me that it was not a “how to not be abused!” post, but just people sharing ideas for escape and survival.

no one ever said that these things were mandatory and that you had to do them all. i thought that was kind of clear and obvious.

likening it to a “how not to get raped” post just bothers me, because this shit was from people’s life experiences. it wasn’t unfounded misogynistic hearsay like “don’t wear a short skirt!!!111” :\

Urk, people are starting to compare the tips post to “how not to get raped” posts? D: 

I took the tips post as just that, tips, to keep in mind, in case I was ever in that position, and the counter post as a reminder to not tell people in abusive people how to behave. How did it jump from Point A to Platform 1? =/
